TRANSFORMER PROTECTOR

Available Types

 MTP Type

P10 - MTP Type_new_web_a

Applications

For all transformers from 3 to 1 000 MVA or above, located in:
•power plants and any industrial site whose production could be affected by the loss of a transformer;
•all the transmission and distribution substations;
•industrial plants with high explosion risks (oil refineries, offshore plants, mines);
•environmental sensitive areas;
•sites not equipped with firewalls and/or Oil Storage Pits (the TRANSFORMER PROTECTOR is the sole technique enabling to secure existing installations in this case).

Characteristics

1- Every Depressurisation Set has a Decompression Chamber.
2- The explosive Oil-Gas mixture is evacuated to an Oil-Gas
     Separation Tank.
3- The explosive gases are channelled to a remote area
4- The Oil-Gas Separation Set can be shared between several
     transformers when not located too far from each other.

For more information on the different applications of the TRANSFORMER PROTECTOR, please refer to [7].

STP Type

Differences with the MTP

The STP only protects small transformers. This is why the Oil-Gas Separation Tank is used as a Decompression Chamber called Depressurisation Tank. Also, there is no Isolation Valve, no Absorber and no Conservator Shutter when the transformer has no Conservator.

P10 - STP Type_new_web_a

Applications

For all small indoor transformers from 0.1 to 3 MVA such as:
•residential and office buildings, towers;
•schools, universities, hotels, airports, hospitals;
•underground substations;
•industrial plants with high explosion risks (oil refineries, offshore plants, mines);
•railway network power supply stations;
•environmental sensitive areas.
